"When the bride doesn’t have any girlfriends, it’s time to call her bros..."
Many brides cite the 'getting ready' part of their wedding as one of the most precious, memorable parts of their big day. But what happens if the bride doesn't have a gaggle of bridesmaids to share the experience with?
That was the scenario that faced Brazilian bride-to-be Rebeca Sinohara earlier this year when she was planning her wedding to beau Renato - and found herself feeling a little blue after seeing photos of bride-after-bride enjoying the wedding morning experience with their best friends.
However, the bride-to-be came up with the perfect solution to her lack-of-maids conundrum: asking her best boy friends to help walk her down the aisle.
The bride-to-be and her five best friends took part in a tongue-in-cheek pre-wedding photoshoot on the wedding morning, which Rebeca shared on Facebook with the caption: "When the bride doesn’t have any girlfriends, it’s time to call her bros. This is what happens to a girl in computer engineering".
The brilliant pics have since gone viral, receiving thousands and thousands of shares across the globe.
Speaking to Buzzfeed, Rebeca, a computer engineering student from Brazil, explained: "I always knew that I wouldn't have a gang of girls to be bridesmaids and to sit together putting on makeup and all before the event".
Rebeca said she had 'no doubt' her boy mates would help her on her journey down the aisle, adding: "In my engineering classroom there were 56 guys and only four girls so it’s not like I had a lot of choice. Of course I have girlfriends from childhood and high school but we are not as close as before and there are some girls that I lived with in shared housing during university, but none of them I became BFFs with".
Renato was on-hand throughout the photo shoot, and was 'laughing the whole time', said Rebeca, concluding: "We all had a lot of fun that day".
