Leonie and Tony Mealing tied the knot at the Hard Rock Hotel in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
We wanted a wedding party that was intimate, elegant and relaxed - with lots of fun!
We wanted to keep our guest-list small and only have the most important people in our lives there. This is the second time round, so we didn't feel the need for a 'big white wedding' at home in the UK.
The Hard Rock Hotel was perfect for us: it offered lots of themed wedding packages to choose from. We picked Elegant Ivory, which was beautiful and matched our colour scheme.
Once we'd made our choice, we left it to our wedding planner, Erika, to bring everything together - she did an amazing job, with lots of added extras that made the day even better than we could have ever imagined!
My wedding dress was made by the Allure Bridal Collection, and I found it in a local bridal boutique in Bristol. I knew the silhouette that I wanted and found a few online I liked - Brides At Home stocked the designer that I wanted to try. My wedding dress was fitted, with an illusion neckline and a deep plunging back.
For my bouquet, I picked ivory roses and orchids to match my wedding gown.
Tony and his best man both wore royal blue suits, with Tony's buttonhole featuring an orchid and his best man wearing an ivory rose. The bridesmaids wore long mint-green dresses, which were matched with pearl and diamond earrings.
After the ceremony, we had a cocktail hour next to the beach and alongside the wedding gazebo: it was amazing, with chandeliers, sofas, lots of candles... It was like having an elegant lounge, but outside!
Our reception was held in a gazebo, which looked like something out of a fairy tale. There were lots of twinkling lights, chiffon curtains, endless flowers, lots of gold accessories, beautiful candles... It was the epitome of romantic elegance.
The attention-to-detail with the flowers and accessories was out of this world. One of my favourite details were the ivory roses, which were inside little glass balls and suspended from sparkling cords as a back-drop to the dining table. They were just beautiful!
The 'Love' table that the wedding cake and desserts were displayed on was a great talking point: it looked fantastic and the lighting enhanced the feel of the atmosphere. It was just perfect.
