8 easy ways to warm up your autumn/winter wedding

8 easy ways to warm up your autumn/winter wedding

Published 6th Oct 2017

Getting married in the cooler months? Keep you (and your guests!) warm by making sure you've got these simple steps covered...

#1 Pick some cosy accessories to complete your bridal look

Think a faux fur bolero or a chic jacket to wear over your wedding dress (or alternatively, go all-out and pair your gown with a check shirt like these brides!)

#2 Be sensible with your footwear

Now's not the time to pick those peep-toe stilettos! Not only will your tootsies get cold but the inevitable wet weather and winter chill will most likely result in boggy terrain and dirty heels.

#3 Cut-down the amount of time spent outdoors

Check that indoor areas will be available to guests immediately, without any hanging around outside whilst staff set-up.

#4 And if that can't be avoided, hire heat lamps

In fact, if there are smokers on your guest-list you might want to hire one or two anyway.

#5 Have a cocoa/hot chocolate bar

It might sound twee AF but in reality, your guests will adore the chance to warm up over a cup of cocoa. Make sure napkins are on-hand to minimise any spills!

#6 Blankets, blankets, blankets. Oh, and gloves

Keep things cosy by providing cover-ups for your guests to warm themselves up with - and also, why not gift your guests favours of cheap-n-cheerful gloves/mittens?

#7 Provide comfort-food snacks

We're talking loaded jacket potatoes, pizza slices, portions of macaroni cheese...

#8 Avoid any 'quiet' time

This is when the shivers are most likely to set in - so keep your guests moving! Try and minimise the amount of time guests spend waiting around in between parts of your celebration - make it as seamless as possible to avoid any cold spells.
