Whitney and Stam tied the knot in a city-chic celebration filled with metallic twists...
Whitney, 28, and Stam, 28, both company directors, held both their ceremony and reception at the Rosewood Hotel in London.
Stam and I first met at secondary school. My family then relocated to Texas, and during my time at university, the boys from school planned a trip to visit me over Christmas.
There must have been some special festive magic in the air as Stam and I clicked and began a long distance relationship – we’d meet wherever we could before I landed my job at Teach For All in London.
When I moved to London and we started looking at venues, nothing really stood out. It was when we happened to be driving down High Holborn that we noticed the Rosewood’s incredible exterior, so we just had to take a look!
The building was so grand and modern with beautiful artwork on display, as well as pretty flowers and breathtaking features, including a rose gold corridor, archways and a glittery mosaic floor – and this was before we had even entered the Grand Ballroom!
The venue was simply stunning and was everything we had imagined and more.
For our guestbook we wanted something a little different: we had a fingerprint tree. Guests placed their fingerprints, along with their names, on the branches of the tree in our colours of pink, green and yellow.
We had a fantastic day, but I loved seeing Stam’s face when I surprised him with a bespoke wedding cake, which was designed to look like Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium.
My tip for brides-to-be: Delegate! I tried to handle everything so ended up being the only one making decisions, which became daunting and overwhelming.
Steal their style!
